Environmental Design

On September 17, 2008 in Environmental Design we split up into groups and critiqued our twig projects. In my group we talked about craft quality and how if something is not crafted just right it can make the project look incomplete. we also talked about how the best way to make and deliver the final project is to try different ideas out. in my group we talked about proportion and how if the proportion is not to scale to the main focus, in this case it is the twelve twigs, then the project will look really bad. we discussed that the twigs needed to have a relationship to each other. when we were in the critique room as a class we discussed how size and scale are related to contrast (color). we also discussed visualization through pattern and form. we talked about how one needs to keep the focus on the essence of the project. Tommy told us that the three ways to join two or more items, which are to join, not join, or to put something in between the items.
