in our design theorem class the speaker was John Lynn. John Lynn discussed the 2030 initative. the idea of 2030 is that by the year 2030 there will be no carbon used in building buildings. AIA 2030 have measurable target goals, a bench marked time line. AIA 2030 time line is that they hope that immediately the carbon use in building buildings and in the operation of buildings will be cut in half, then 60% by the year 2010, then 70% by the year 2015, then 80% by the year 2020, then 90% by the year 2025, then 100% by the year 2030. AIA 50>>50 is 50 different ways to reduce carbon use in buildings and in the running of the buildings. we also discussed LEED buildings, which are buildings that are made with the LEED filter in mind. the LEED filter uses solar panels to power buildings as one of the ways to redudce carbon use in buildings.
